Join us for our forthcoming events, the Learning from Europe International Seminar and the Urbanism Awards Ceremony 2014.
Our celebration of this year’s 15 Urbanism Award finalists begins with Learning from Europe, where we will bring together European City of the Year Award finalists Aarhus, Rotterdam and Turin to share lessons and learning with an Academy audience. This is a great opportunity to gain insight into the past two decades of change within these distinctive European cities, each having worked creatively to prosper following substantial post-industrial decline.
The following day we will gather at the Grand Connaught Rooms in London to announce the winners of The Urbanism Awards for 2015. The ceremony will celebrate the Cities, Towns, Neighbourhoods, Streets and Places that have demonstrated innovation and excellence in a number of ways, including leadership and governance, environmental sustainability and community, health and well being – and more.
We are delighted to announce that this year’s guest speaker will be the renowned voice on urbanism Paul Finch, director of the World Architecture Festival, editorial director of both the Architectural Review and Architects’ Journal and deputy chair of the Design Council. We will also be joined by the Academy’s acclaimed poet-in-residence, Ian McMillan, who will bring our 15 finalists to life through his evocative urban poetry.
