We periodically canvass the views of our membership to ensure that our activities and events match their interests as closely as possible. We also want to ensure that the structure and management of the organisation meets changing and growing expectations. Past surveys have led to our Governance Review; our Code of Conduct; the establishment of our Young Urbanists Group; and, most recently, our new Friends category of membership.

We are now seeking views on how to enable and encourage further engagement and participation – in the AoU Congress, the Urbanism Awards, our Regions and Nations’ activities, the AoU Journal ‘Here and Now’ and our website. The success of the Academy’s activities comes from the involvement and input of our diverse membership, so we need to better understand this involvement.
