Milton Keynes Study Trip
Saturday 19 October 2013
10.00 – 18.00
Join the Young Urbanists for a full-day study trip to Milton Keynes, including a series of talks from influential figures involved in the creation and management of the town, and a walking tour exploring the city centre plan and residential development. Learn from one of the original Garden Cities, meet with other Young Urbanists, and engage in stimulating discussion on the future of our cities.
Our speakers include:
John Best AoU – ex-Chief Executive of Milton Keynes Council from 2003 to 2008 following the winding up of the Corporation, during a Milton Keynes Partnership period
Neil Higson – formerly the Chief Landscape Architect of Milton Keynes Development Corporation and responsible for the implementation of the city-wide landscape plan
Stuart Turner AoU – Architect and urbanist who worked on the implementation of a 10,000 unit area development with the MKDC and is now engaged with the future growth programme
Participants will receive an introductory digital brochure ahead of the visit with facts, articles and photos of Milton Keynes.
